Three Jets Starters Put to the Test in Opener
Preseason results aren’t predictive, but the Jets’ opener vs. the Buccaneers will be meaningful for three starters: center Josh Myers, who needs to show improved operation and consistency after a low 2025 grade; left tackle Olu Fashanu, whose technique—especially his punch—needs to translate into better play; and linebacker Jamien Sherwood, who must rebound in coverage now that he’s not handling green-dot duties. The game will test the Jets’ line cohesion and whether these players can unlock the unit’s high ceiling in 2026.
