Rangers Extend Winning Streak to Three Despite Veleno Injury and Physical Clash
The New York Rangers defeated the Utah Mammoth 4-2 on October 4, securing their third consecutive win of the 2026-27 season. Despite losing fourth-line center Joe Veleno early in the game, the team adapted by deploying Mika Zibanejad for extra shifts. The victory was sealed by J.T. Miller’s first goal of the season, following a go-ahead goal by Gabe Perreault. The game featured significant physicality, including a scrum involving Will Cuylle, but the Rangers maintained their league-leading six-point total.
