
Bold, Diverse Lineup Emerges as Booker Prize 2026 Longlist Announced
The 2026 Booker Prize longlist features 13 novels from seven nationalities, including past winners Douglas Stuart and Marlon James and Elizabeth Strout, with ten first-time entrants such as Kenan Orhan, Rebecca Perry and Djamel White. Chaired by Mary Beard and joined by Jarvis Cocker, the panel emphasizes risk and originality, with titles like James’s The Disappearers and Stuart’s John of John highlighted. The shortlist is announced Sept. 22 and the winner on Nov. 9; 163 eligible books were submitted this year.
