Trace Adkins recounts being shot by ex-wife in 1994 domestic dispute
Trace Adkins revealed on Theo Von’s podcast that his then-wife Julie Curtis shot him during a 1994 domestic argument, with the bullet piercing his heart and lungs and exiting through his right arm. He was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for emergency open-heart surgery and has said the incident was forgivable; the couple later divorced and he did not press charges. He has since remarried and continues to manage heart-health checkups.
