Kane County Sees Second Measles Case in Vaccinated Individual, Health Officials Say
Kane County health officials confirm a second measles case in a vaccinated person who had contact with the first case; the second case is not infectious. The initial case involved an unvaccinated traveler and up to 1,600 potential exposures, with exposure sites including Kaneland High School in Maple Park and Next Generation Pediatric Clinic in South Elgin. Health officials say being exposed does not guarantee infection and are guiding those exposed to monitor for symptoms, verify immunity, or quarantine as needed while the health department contacts affected individuals.
