Russia's Black Sea Blitz: Odesa Port Devastated as Kharkiv and Pavlohrad Suffer Deadly Strikes
Russian forces launched a massive overnight assault on Ukraine, killing at least five people across Kharkiv, Kherson, and Pavlohrad while inflicting severe damage on Odesa’s port infrastructure. The attack involved over 200 drones and multiple missile types, targeting energy grids and grain export facilities. President Zelensky condemned the strikes as a systematic war against global food security, noting that Odesa has suffered 28 deaths in the first three weeks of July alone. Meanwhile, BBC reporting highlights that the Black Sea has become the world’s most dangerous shipping zone, with port operations halted for 15 hours daily due to constant alerts. In a related development, The Independent reports that Zelensky warned North Korea could send up to 50,000 troops to Russia, though this appears to be a separate live-blog update rather than part of the immediate strike campaign.
