Ukraine hits Kinef refinery in Russia, forcing shutdown
Ukraine's drones struck the Kirishi oil refinery (Kinef) in Russia's Leningrad Region, forcing its shutdown after three of four processing units were damaged; repair time is unknown. Kinef, owned by Surgutneftegas, is the largest refinery in European Russia and accounted for about 7% of Russia's oil output in 2025. Ukrainian drones have repeatedly targeted Kinef during the war, with a major attack last reported on March 26, 2026.
