King County reissues 92 ballots after discovery in Golden Gardens dumpster
King County Elections confirmed that 92 undelivered mail-in ballots were found in a dumpster at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle. The incident was reported by a voter who contacted the county’s customer service line. Officials recovered two bins of mail and have reissued ballots to all affected voters. The U.S. Postal Service and Postal Inspection Service are investigating the incident, which officials describe as likely related to general mail theft rather than targeted ballot destruction.
