Three new titles join Prime Video this weekend: Journey to Bethlehem, a festive musical; Fargo, the Coen brothers’ acclaimed classic; and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, a big-budget sequel.
20th Century Studios is developing a new Planet of the Apes film with Matt Shakman directing and Josh Friedman writing; Shakman, known for WandaVision and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, will produce alongside Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, with Friedman also having written Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Scott Aversano is overseeing the project, which continues a franchise that has grossed more than $2 billion worldwide.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has surpassed $300M globally, while IF and Garfield have each crossed the $100M mark. Furiosa has reached $75M worldwide.

The teaser trailer for "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," the fourth film in the "Planets of the Apes" revival series, has been released. Set for release in spring 2024, the movie takes place after the death of Caesar in the previous film and depicts a world where apes are now dominant over humans. The cast includes Milliam H. Macy, Owen Teague, Kevin Durand, Freya Allen, and Peter Macon. Directed by Wes Ball, the film was shot in Sydney, Australia, and wrapped in February 2023.
