
Historic Shift: Russian Judge Loses UN World Court Seat, South African Appointed
For the first time in the history of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), a Russian judge, Kirill Gevorgyan, has lost his re-election bid, resulting in no representation from Russia on the World Court. This comes after the ICJ ordered Russia to suspend its military operation in Ukraine, a decision that Russia argues the court has no jurisdiction over.
