Taylor Swift Mourns Loss of Trusted Bodyguard on Wedding Day
Taylor Swift’s longtime security guard and former Hendersonville High School criminal justice teacher Kirk Schwabe died on July 3 after a battle with cancer, reportedly the same day Swift and Travis Kelce married in New York. Schwabe had protected Swift since around 2009 after a career as a Chicago cop, and earlier taught Swift’s class from 2004–2006, earning the singer’s trust as her “favorite” teacher.
