Joint Advisory: North Korean Group WaterPlum Steals $10.7M via Fake Tech Interviews
A joint advisory from US, Japanese, Australian, and German authorities reveals that the North Korean hacking group WaterPlum compromised 30,000 devices in over 100 countries between December 2025 and July 2026. The group stole $10.7 million in cryptocurrency and drained over 7,000 wallets by impersonating tech companies and using AI face-swapping during fake job interviews. The funds were transferred to North Korea to support state weapons programs.
