Over 50 Arrested at Liverpool Rally Defying Palestine Action Ban
More than 50 people were arrested in Liverpool on September 27 during a protest supporting the proscribed group Palestine Action. The demonstration, organized by Defend Our Juries, took place outside the Labour Party conference venue. Police cited the Terrorism Act for arrests related to displaying supportive materials, while critics condemned the action as a violation of free speech. Notable detainees included 94-year-old barrister Margaret Owen and musician Robert Del Naja. The UK Supreme Court is scheduled to review the group's ban in November.
