
Body of missing U.S. officer recovered off Morocco coast during training exercise
The body of 1st Lt. Lamont Key Jr. was recovered by a Moroccan search team after he and another U.S. servicemember disappeared during a sunset hike near Cap Draa during the African Lion exercise; the second service member remains missing and search operations continue with more than 1,000 personnel involved. Key, 27, from Richmond, Virginia, was an air defense artillery officer; remains will be repatriated as leadership mourns his loss and supports his family.
