Brewers DFA Lance McCullers less than two weeks after trading for him
Milwaukee designated Lance McCullers for assignment less than two weeks after acquiring him from Houston, and recalled Garrett Stallings from Triple-A to fill the roster spot. In two relief outings with Milwaukee, McCullers posted a 3.86 ERA with five strikeouts and five walks over 4 2/3 innings, after a rough appearance against Colorado. The move follows a trade that sent Jadyn Fielder to Houston, with the Astros offsetting most of McCullers’ remaining salary and Milwaukee paying about $2.5 million. McCullers had been on the injured list with shoulder inflammation; he last pitched May 13, and previously went 2-3 with a 6.86 ERA in eight Houston starts this season.
