Kooij Strikes in Stage Five Sprint at Tour de France 2026
Olav Kooij won stage five of the Tour de France 2026 in a chaotic sprint, beating Max Kanter and Tim Merlier as a crash marred the finale. GC leader Torstein Traeen finished in the same 14-second group and kept the yellow jersey, with Pogacar, Vingegaard and Evenepoel also about 14 seconds back. Traeen still leads by 28 seconds over Sean Quinn. Kooij, competing in the Tour for the first time with Decathlon CMA CGM after illness hampered his season, celebrated his first Tour sprint win.
