Laurens Vanthoor led the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 to the first-ever overall victory for a Porsche prototype at the Motul Petit Le Mans. The ten-hour race at Road Atlanta featured a record 16 full-course cautions and ended with a frantic final-lap battle against the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8. Vanthoor, alongside co-drivers Kevin Estre and Matt Campbell, held off Sheldon van der Linde by 1.205 seconds to claim the checkered flag. The result marked the first outright win for Porsche at the event since 2015 and concluded the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.
