Luzardo lands on 15-day IL as Phillies brace for playoff pitching shuffle
Phillies left-hander Jesus Luzardo was placed on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation (retroactive to Sept. 12), shaping the team’s postseason plans as Philadelphia pursues a wild-card spot. A return by Sept. 27 is possible, but the rotation will be reshuffled—likely with Andrew Painter or Nestor Cortes stepping in—while Luzardo strives to be ready for the first round after a dominant stretch since June.
