Pogacar crowns Tour de Suisse Stage 5 with late climb surge
Tadej Pogacar surged past Bahrain-Victorious’ Lenny Martinez on the final climb to win Tour de Suisse Stage 5, overtaking the breakaway leader with 850 meters to go. The victory gave Pogacar his third stage win in five days and pushed him 6:32 clear of Richard Carapaz in the overall GC, with Mathias Vacek third. The stage was a brutal 150.1 km with 4451 altitude meters, serving as a final pre-Tour test for Pogacar as he chases a fifth Tour title.
