Shadow AI on Endpoint: The New Blind Spot in Enterprise Security
As hardware and software ecosystems enable local LLM inference on employee devices, traditional perimeters fail to detect or regulate this activity. Enterprises must shift governance to the endpoint with inventorying and monitoring of model artifacts, a curated internal model hub, and updated policies addressing licensing, provenance, and safe usage to mitigate risks around integrity, provenance, and compliance.
