Linux 7.2 arrives with faster I/O performance and driver improvements for AMD and Intel, adds Cache-Aware Scheduling, the USB4STREAM protocol, and HDMI 2.1 FRL support, plus late patches and a DRM scheduler revert as the 7.3 merge window opens; it will power Ubuntu 26.10 and other forthcoming releases.
