Grief and suspicion: Fans demand answers after Jackie the eagle’s death
Jackie, the 14-year-old bald eagle whose Big Bear Lake nest was watched by millions, died on August 10 after weeks of intensive care for severe anemia. While the Ojai Raptor Center confirmed her death, fans grew suspicious of the care provided, leading to public backlash. In response, the Ontario Tower Buzzers baseball team announced a tribute event, and Jackie’s mate Shadow was recently spotted with a new partner.
