Seattle Teachers Avert Strike with Last-Minute Deal; Dark Matter Detection Gains New Evidence
Seattle Public Schools and the Seattle Education Association reached a tentative agreement late Tuesday night, averting a strike and allowing 50,000 students to return to class on Wednesday. The deal, which still requires ratification, addresses pay, class sizes, and special education funding amidst an $87 million budget shortfall. Separately, scientists at the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment in South Dakota reported a potential dark matter detection, adding to ongoing efforts to identify the mysterious substance that comprises 27% of the universe.
