Neasden Waste Facility Blaze Halts London Tube and Rail Services
A massive fire at a waste transfer station in Neasden, north-west London, has forced the suspension of major Tube lines and rail services. The London Fire Brigade deployed 125 firefighters and 20 engines to tackle the blaze at a 100m by 150m facility run by London Energy. Smoke plumes were visible across central London, prompting residents to keep windows shut. Transport for London suspended the entire Metropolitan line and part of the Jubilee line, while National Rail reported delays and cancellations on routes to Aylesbury. Although an adjacent Amazon warehouse was not directly involved, staff were evacuated as a precaution. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and crews are expected to remain on site for the rest of the day.
