Alaska Air Group Adds Osaka and Tahiti to Seattle's Global Hub, Using Hawaiian A330s
Alaska Air Group is launching nonstop flights from Seattle to Osaka, Japan, and Papeete, French Polynesia, in spring 2027. Both routes will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines using Airbus A330 aircraft, marking the eighth and ninth long-haul additions to the airline's Seattle hub. The expansion aims to solidify Seattle's status as a global gateway while leveraging existing Hawaiian fleet assets, despite concerns over aircraft efficiency and branding inconsistencies.
