Nassau County double-stabbing suspect identified; undocumented immigrant charged
Police say 22-year-old Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera stabbed two women to death in Island Park and Valley Stream, Nassau County. He was arrested after contacting police and being stopped at a Lynbrook 7-Eleven; he faces multiple murder charges and has pleaded not guilty. Investigators say the victims, who lived together, had no publicly identified domestic relationship. Alvarenga Rivera came to the U.S. illegally in 2016 at age 12.
