Nebraska Softball Legend Sippel Announces Retirement After WCWS Run
Nebraska associate head softball coach Lori Sippel announced her retirement after a 41-year Huskers career as a player and coach (37 seasons on the coaching staff). She joined as a pitcher in 1985–88, has spent four decades shaping the program, including a season that produced a record‑setting team with two All-Americans and a top‑five finish at the Women’s College World Series. Sippel is a former Husker pitcher, Olympic representative for Team Canada, and a Hall of Fame inductee, and her departure is marked by tributes from head coach Rhonda Revelle and colleagues as she begins the next chapter.
