
Carlos Mencia Hit With 12 Felony Tax-Evasion Charges Over $8.7M
Comedian Carlos Mencia was arrested in Los Angeles County on 12 felony counts of tax evasion (six for failing to file personal tax returns with intent to evade, six for failing to file corporate taxes for Nedlos Entertainment, Inc.). Prosecutors allege he failed to report about $8.7 million in personal and corporate income from 2019–2024 and owes more than $300,000 in California taxes. Arraignment is scheduled for June 22, with bail set at $250,000; if convicted, he faces up to 11 years and four months in state prison.
