LA Mayoral Candidates Clash Over Gaza Genocide Label at Jewish Federation Forum
Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and challenger Nithya Raman presented sharply divergent views on the Gaza war during a forum hosted by Jewish Federation Los Angeles. While Bass rejected the term 'genocide' to avoid divisiveness, Raman defended her use of the label based on international expert assessments. The debate highlighted tensions regarding Raman's past association with controversial figures and her support for protest movements, even as she maintains a significant polling lead.
