One Piece Remake Teaser Confirms Tanaka as Luffy, Netflix Debut Slated for Feb 2027
Netflix unveiled the first teaser for The One Piece, Wit Studio’s remake of the anime, at Annecy and confirms Mayumi Tanaka will reprise Monkey D. Luffy. The seven-episode first season will stream worldwide in February 2027, retelling roughly the first 50 manga chapters (about 300 minutes). Masashi Koizuka directs, with a staff aiming for tighter pacing than the original Toei series.
