Lufia Returns: SNES Classics Head to Steam, Sequel Stages the Comeback
Beloved SNES JRPGs Lufia I & II are getting their first official re-release on Steam, packaged as Lufia I & II: The Sinistrals Saga for a 2027 release. Lufia II is the standout in the pair, praised for its tightened combat, painterly visuals, and iconic score, while Lufia I remains a simpler, early RPG treat. The port is led by Neverland (the team behind Rune Factory) and follows a wave of retro JRPG re-releases, including Terranigma, announced during Tokyo Game Show 2026.
