Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosis in Alabama, with 5,320 new cases reported in 2023 and 540 deaths attributed to the disease. Breast cancer is the second most common, with 4,500 new cases in women and 720 deaths. Lung and bronchus cancer ranks third, with 4,280 new cases and 2,610 deaths. Overall, Alabama is expected to have an estimated 30,730 new cancer cases in 2023.
