Apple abandons M6 Pro/Max to push M7 AI chips, delaying the MacBook Ultra
Bloomberg reports Apple canceled the M6 Pro and M6 Max to focus on the M7 lineup, leaving the MacBook Ultra’s debut uncertain and potentially delayed to 2027 or later. The M7 Pro/Max are expected in the second half of 2027, with an M7 Ultra for Mac Studio not planned until 2028, as Apple aims to deliver stronger AI performance, while the standard M6 is still slated for late 2026 in cheaper models.
