Lucas Museum Opens in LA, Blending Pop Culture and Fine Art in a Spaceship-Style Design
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opens in Los Angeles on September 22, 2026, after a decade of delays and failed attempts in other cities. The 300,000-square-foot, spaceship-shaped building features 100,000 square feet of gallery space dedicated to visual storytelling, blending fine art with pop culture, comics, and Star Wars artifacts. Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum aims to elevate 'people's art' and challenge traditional artistic hierarchies.
