Midtown Chaos After Knicks Win: 56 Arrests, 10 Officers Injured
After the Knicks’ tense comeback victory over the San Antonio Spurs, more than 10,000 people gathered north of Madison Square Garden as crowds grew unruly. Police arrested 56 individuals and 10 officers were injured in the ensuing disturbances, with reports of street closures, damage to vehicles, and people climbing on scaffolding and other structures. Some suspects faced charges including assault on a police officer and weapon possession, while many were released with criminal summonses. Security around MSG was stepped up, and it’s unclear whether a watch party for Game 5 will be held.
