
Skyrmionic Magnons Enable Topological Superconductivity Model.
Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology have proposed a model system of topological superconductivity that does not contain superconducting materials. The system uses a sandwich structure of a heavy metal, a magnetic insulator, and a normal metal, where the heavy metal induces a quantum skyrmion crystal in the magnetic insulator. The researchers calculated the system's induced superconducting state and found that it had a non-trivial topology, making it a promising candidate for quantum computing applications.
