Abu Dhabi Royal Sentenced for Child Neglect After London Cocaine Incident
Mahrah Al Nahyan, a 32-year-old member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, was sentenced to a two-year community order and a fine of nearly $8,000 after pleading guilty to child neglect. She was found unconscious in a West London street in June, slumped against railings next to an unconscious man, while a barefoot three-year-old child played nearby. The incident occurred after a cocaine binge, though her defense argued she was merely tired from prior drug use. Passersby intervened to protect the child from traffic until police arrived. Al Nahyan is currently undergoing rehabilitation and plans to continue treatment as a day patient.
