Stuyven slams Giro chief after Stage 2 neutralisation
Soudal-QuickStep rider Jasper Stuyven criticised Giro d'Italia race director Marco Velo after Stage 2's crash and rapid restart, saying GC times should have been neutralised in the final kilometres to avoid risk; he described Velo's action as looking like a 'frightened dog' as he signalled to restart. The stage was won by Guillermo Thomas Silva in a reduced group sprint, Jonas Vingegaard attacked on the run-in, GC times counted, and six riders were forced out of the race ahead of Stage 3 in Sofia.
