
Mason Parris Makes History as Michigan's First Hodge Trophy Winner.
Mason Parris, a senior wrestler from the University of Michigan, has become the first Wolverine to win the Hodge Trophy, awarded annually to the nation's top college wrestler. Parris went 33-0 as a senior and registered 21 bonus-point victories, capping his season with a dominant run through the NCAA Championships. He picked up 38 of the 64 first-place votes, with Penn State’s Carter Starocci finishing second with 14 first-place votes. Parris is the fifth heavyweight to claim the award since its inception in 1995.
