Mississippi toddler killed as police fire on vehicle during Walmart shoplifting response
A 1-year-old, Kohen Wiley, was killed when Senatobia police fired at a vehicle fleeing a Walmart shoplifting call in Mississippi. The mother and a family friend were in the car; officers say the vehicle nearly struck an officer and continued toward a hospital where the child died. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating and will forward findings to the Attorney General. The mother has not been charged, and advocates say she did not steal. The city says it is cooperating and has called for release of body-camera and surveillance footage as the investigation progresses.
