SMPTE Opens Its Standards Library to All, Freeing the Full Catalog
SMPTE announced that its complete catalog of standards, recommended practices, engineering guidelines, and registered disclosure documents is now freely accessible to the global media-technology community, including all future releases, removing the long-standing per-document paywall that often cost hundreds of dollars. The move aims to accelerate adoption, interoperability, and innovation across IP-based workflows in broadcasting, film, and digital cinema. The library is funded by corporate members and donors, with access available via the SMPTE Standards Library and Recently Published Documents pages.
