Russian Military Chief Resurfaces in Video After June Rebellion
Russia's Defense Ministry released a video of Gen. Valery Gerasimov, the country's military chief, for the first time since a brief rebellion in June where the leader of a mercenary army sought his dismissal. In the video, Gerasimov is shown discussing missile location identification and calling for improvement. During the rebellion, the head of the private defense company Wagner denounced Gerasimov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu for denying supplies to his fighters in Ukraine. The rebellion ended with a deal brokered by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, and Gerasimov had not been seen in public since then.
