Russia Shifts Military Ships in Response to Ukrainian Attacks
Satellite images confirm that multiple military ships from the Russian Black Sea fleet, usually based in Sevastopol, have been relocated to the port of Novorossiysk. The move comes after sustained Ukrainian attacks on Sevastopol. While some ships have previously been based in Novorossiysk, the timing and scale of the relocation suggest it is a response to the perceived vulnerability of Sevastopol. The Ukrainian Navy confirms that Russia has pulled most of its warships from Sevastopol, and there are indications that Russia may be considering moving the fleet even farther from Ukraine. Precautions are also being observed in Russian oil tanker activities in the Black Sea.
