Myrtle Beach rescuer found dead after saving girl from rip current
A swimmer who jumped in to rescue a young girl from a rip current near Myrtle Beach was found dead the next morning. The girl’s status remains unknown after a second swimmer who helped her was pulled under and went missing as police, fire crews and the Coast Guard searched the area; lifeguards had already left duty. A hospital report mentioned in an earlier version was later clarified as not involving the girl.
