Nigeria witnesses another mob killing over blasphemy accusation.
A man was stoned to death in Nigeria's northwest region after being accused of blasphemy, sparking outrage from rights groups concerned about growing threats to religious freedom in the area. Blasphemy carries the death penalty under Islamic law in the region, and many of those accused never make it to court for trial. Amnesty International Nigeria's office said the failure to ensure justice in such cases would encourage more extrajudicial killings.
