Anduril Unveils Steelfin: A Modular Missile Family to Slash Air Defense Costs
Anduril has introduced Steelfin, a modular surface-to-air missile family designed to replace expensive interceptors with a common architecture. By sharing a baseline airframe and avionics across variants, the system aims to drastically reduce costs while maintaining compatibility with existing launchers like the Mk 41 and M903. The company targets production of thousands of units annually by 2028, addressing the need for affordable defense against diverse threats from drones to hypersonic missiles.
