Suspended Democratic Prosecutor Challenges DeSantis' Authority in Florida Supreme Court
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis exceeded his authority when he suspended Democratic prosecutor Monique Worrell from her elected office following a shooting incident, according to her attorney. Worrell's lawyer argued that she was simply doing her job and was not engaged in any illegal or negligent behavior. However, DeSantis' attorney claimed that Worrell's failure to prosecute crimes committed by minors and her leniency towards gun crimes put the public at risk. The case is now before the Supreme Court, which will determine the legality of Worrell's suspension.
