Bears absorb blow as Montez Sweat suspended for two games over PED violation
The NFL suspended Chicago Bears edge rusher Montez Sweat for two games without pay for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy. Sweat will miss the upcoming games against the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, returning for Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. To fill the void, the Bears activated defensive end Shemar Turner from the physically unable to perform list. The suspension complicates the Bears' defensive depth, especially with Dayo Odeyingbo dealing with a quad injury, though the timing coincides with the potential return of quarterback Caleb Williams.
