Revel Pulls the Plug on Electric Moped Service in Brooklyn and San Francisco
Brooklyn-based company Revel is shutting down its moped business in New York City due to low ridership, making it unsustainable to operate for another season. The company will lay off 67 employees and shift its focus to an all-electric rideshare service and the development of public fast charging stations. Revel had expanded to other markets but demand slowed considerably in 2022, leading to its withdrawal from certain markets. The company plans to continue growing its rideshare service and charging infrastructure in other areas of New York City.
