Families of 290 Missing Indians Await News After Nepal-Tibet Floods
At least 290 Indian pilgrims remain unaccounted for after flash floods struck the Nepal-Tibet border region. Families of two women, Subhrasree Chakraborty and Rina Banerjee, report losing contact after their groups cleared Nepal immigration but before crossing into China. The death toll has risen to 475, with 537 people listed as missing by Nepal authorities. Rescue efforts are complicated by blocked roads and fears of a secondary flood from a barrier lake.
